Every 4 days a child in Australia is born with cystic fibrosis (CF) more often than not it is to unsuspecting families who don't even have a family history. But yet over 1,000,000 people (that's 1 in 25) in Australia are carriers of the genetic changes that could make them a parent of a child with CF.

CF is a degenrative genetic condition and is the most common life threatning genetic condition affecting young Australians today. It has a significant impact on a persons respiratory, digestive and reproductive system. Lung failure is the primary cause of death. Currently the life expectancy of someone born today with CF is just 37 years. There is no cure.

Every day people with CF have to undergo hours of physiotherapy equiptment, take daily medications and undergo physical excercise just to clear their airways and stay healthy.

Here at CFCC we help families and individuals affected by cystic fibrosis by alleiviating the daily impact that CF has on their lives. We do this by supporting their mental wellbeing, their financial independance, and their educational needs. We also fund critical research into a cure so that one day we can embrace a world that is unaffected by CF.

Will you join in the fight against CF?
